</div><div style="text-align: center;">I don't know about you but cleaning is not my favorite thing to do. I often get overwhelmed with the clutter and would rather just not do it. Well that is not an option. With little kids you have to keep thing clean and picked up. I like to keep things picked up, but Saturday is when my family does the real cleaning. So I created some fun little cards to keep us organized and I can get the whole family involved in the cleaning. I made double of each just in case one gets lost or ruined during cleaning. I cut out each card and glued them to colorful construction paper. I then took them to my local Lakeshore Learning and laminated them. Then you can keep them clean while you clean. I punched a hole in each corner and I keep them on a circle binder clip. I can keep them with my weekly cleaning supplies and pass them out to each person in the family. My husband and I take turns helping our five year old do her chores and lists help keeps my husband on task. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I love this time of year. The leaves are turning different colors and the weather is changing. It is apple and pumpkin season. In our little family it is a tradition to visit the pumpkin patch every year. So to gear up for our visit to the patch I created these two little worksheets. Get out your red and orange paint or you can use stamp pads. Have your child use his or her finger prints to make apples and pumpkins. This is a great way to get your kids counting and doing math.</div><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">My daughter just adores the new movie Rio. She pretends to fly around the house and squawks like a bird. So I decided to make her some wings. She was so excited about them she wore them for three days straight, yes even at night she slept with them. They are very easy to make and I even made a spare pair for when her friends visit. My daughter and our little neighbor played Rio for hours the other day. Thanks to these fun little wings they were really able to pretend in style.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-nVuKkF2sOcIz5cHLtC173kCn7hfzY-EEbVaYgEFcPbVlPt6GjB4CAGp1e3Y0ejPEZIY8UsnF30FxWLMxo9-89P9vG9dt35KTYgD_Rwzx_xf1H4cxDAdjWMvitTzEVhtLon_HVa71H6YC/s1600/August+001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-nVuKkF2sOcIz5cHLtC173kCn7hfzY-EEbVaYgEFcPbVlPt6GjB4CAGp1e3Y0ejPEZIY8UsnF30FxWLMxo9-89P9vG9dt35KTYgD_Rwzx_xf1H4cxDAdjWMvitTzEVhtLon_HVa71H6YC/s320/August+001.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Using two layers of flannel. You can by it by the yard at your local fabric store. I measured my daughter wing span, she is five. Her wing span and her little 5 year old friends was about 42 inches. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisXfDlf9O7fRzXVmWIUW8i6po4GiadP7-_PvD4LHZQcznNvrIo4gIaXz_rL20AW73ZiWa-RF8hplwpbXNkDLSRKqmxO5ZCWhibMA5X6d4BGxtV49f0iJdoKAqkySbQRj-qn4sPP21T_K4j/s1600/August+002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisXfDlf9O7fRzXVmWIUW8i6po4GiadP7-_PvD4LHZQcznNvrIo4gIaXz_rL20AW73ZiWa-RF8hplwpbXNkDLSRKqmxO5ZCWhibMA5X6d4BGxtV49f0iJdoKAqkySbQRj-qn4sPP21T_K4j/s320/August+002.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So I folded the fabric in half, and then I drew on it with some sidewalk chalk. You can see that it took a few tries to get them looking how I wanted them to look. The chalk comes right off, draw till you get what you want.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipQ04k8dDIwzZIo2TcEy4w1xgEdQOWyQl7h9G-K3X2St8dtH0J6C8LJCL4YWt2ajhnCZlaegbwyu75xVTP2vB-8GFGP0CgClbZRPcZLqY96k_Z_KHjCTCkkNVKTNNo9ezsH_5RI6DfR-92/s1600/August+003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipQ04k8dDIwzZIo2TcEy4w1xgEdQOWyQl7h9G-K3X2St8dtH0J6C8LJCL4YWt2ajhnCZlaegbwyu75xVTP2vB-8GFGP0CgClbZRPcZLqY96k_Z_KHjCTCkkNVKTNNo9ezsH_5RI6DfR-92/s320/August+003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I then cut them out. See so easy. When sewing the two fabrics together you just sew around the top and bottom edges. I did not sew around the feathers. I just sewed on across the top of them so that they would flow and look like feathers. On the red ones I made I cut different colors of separate pieces of felt and stuck them in between the two layers feathers in the spaces. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwTwgRq_0JeHhPOKyco-ejvHNtL2aQ6uqno8ZeT4p7uiNaxe6UNcCLRRjpxILqvjEUJKZrXmxKC9baCLjQ7OK0SRpyv2Ne3_I7zOFwoFBV7z3aoJUvDMS_BPIpOVZsfhm23UBlWPhPo9Ul/s1600/August+009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwTwgRq_0JeHhPOKyco-ejvHNtL2aQ6uqno8ZeT4p7uiNaxe6UNcCLRRjpxILqvjEUJKZrXmxKC9baCLjQ7OK0SRpyv2Ne3_I7zOFwoFBV7z3aoJUvDMS_BPIpOVZsfhm23UBlWPhPo9Ul/s320/August+009.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I then added 1/4 inch elastic to arms and hand areas. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitDPpyryGxwOwCVgF2ZBD8HhYmUQ1-RBnHr6KTPTbvC1ZkfjGgosqS9UPGvRXgcvrzD5yBgXBEecz2JvYvDgQNw_qdhSN-vvxgKlFB0zKmMBRgis4EQZb4FhiWjOcjh-qv4vYV6CNQ53Ck/s1600/August+016.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitDPpyryGxwOwCVgF2ZBD8HhYmUQ1-RBnHr6KTPTbvC1ZkfjGgosqS9UPGvRXgcvrzD5yBgXBEecz2JvYvDgQNw_qdhSN-vvxgKlFB0zKmMBRgis4EQZb4FhiWjOcjh-qv4vYV6CNQ53Ck/s320/August+016.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I made this yummy recipe for a family brunch and it was a great success. The Pizza dough recipes is amazing. Every Monday night my family has family night. We eat pizza and play games. So this recipe is the one I use anytime I need a really good pizza crust. It is easy and very yummy!</div><br />
<b>Dough:</b><br />
<br />
2 Cups Flour<br />
1 Cup Warm Water<br />
1 1/2 Tbs. Sugar or Honey<br />
1 tsp. Onion Powder<br />
1 tsp. Garlic Powder<br />
1 Tbs. Yeast<br />
<br />
<b>Topping:</b><br />
<br />
2-3 Eggs<br />
2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">In a kitchenAid mixer, with a dough hook, add flour, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, yeast. Turn on low and slowly mix in warm water. Slowly increase speed. Mix on higher speed for 4 mins. Remove bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let stand in a warm place 30 mins. When dough has doubled in size, punch down. On a large pizza tray roll out dough. I flatten it with my hands and pinch the edges to form a high crust.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">In a bowl crack eggs and scramble with a fork. Pour egg on to crust, make sure it covers the whole crust. Top with cheese and any kind of topping you like. You can add breakfast sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, or olives. What ever you prefer. You can also make an oval pizza on a cooking sheet if you do not have a pizza pan.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Enjoy!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Yesterday while shopping at my favorite local farmers market, I came across some yummy new products that they just started stocking. They came in lots of different flavors and looked very scrumptious! Sadly they were around seven dollars for one tinny tiny bag of them. What am I talking about.... Kale Chips! Good thing is that I have been making kale chips for years. So here are two super yummy recipes and I hope you try them. They might sound strange but they are better for you. With kale chips you don't have to feel guilty for eating a whole tray of them.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">There are lots of different recipes from baking them in your oven, to dehydrating them. I have a dehydrator so I almost always make a batch before I go to bed and dehydrate at night. Good thing is that they do not require a dehydrator. You can simply bake them in your oven.</span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span><br />

Now you can either dehydrate this for 6 to 8 hours or you can put it on a wax covered cookie sheet in your oven. To make you oven in to a dehydrator you put it at the lowest heat, and bake till kale is crunchy. I will prop the door open a little.</span><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">One of my all time favorite things about summer is lemonade. One of the best things about the end of spring are the strawberries. So I came up with this super yummy recipe to incorporate both of these yummy delights. This recipe is so refreshing, and I guarantee you are going to love it.</div><br />
<b>What you are going to need:</b><br />
<br />
A small container of fresh strawberries<br />
1 Cup of freshly squeezed Lemon Juice<br />
1 Cup of White Sugar<br />
6 Cups of Cool Water<br />
<br />
<b>Here is how to make it:</b><br />
<br />
Wash and clean strawberries and cut off the top green part. In a blender add the strawberries, lemon juice, and sugar. Blend till smooth. To a large pitcher add strawberry lemon blend and water. Stir. Serve in a glass of ice and enjoy!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">You can even make it in to a slushy by adding a glass of lemonade and a glass of ice to your blender. This is very refreshing on a hot day!!!<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">My daughter loves the new Disney princess Rapunzel. We never had the chance to see the movie in theaters, so we were very excited that it was just released on dvd. My daughter has been watching it non stop since I picked it up the other day. She kept trying to find things around the house that looked like Rapunzel's hair. I caught her with my yellow measuring tape and a yellow blanket. So I remembered that I had some extra yellow yarn in my craft supplies. I took the top of a 30 Gallon storage bin and I wrapped the yarn around the longest end. I wrapped it over and over again till all the yarn was gone. I then tided it at the top in a knot and braided it. It isn't super fancy but it works and my daughter is very excited about it. About 10 mins after attaching it to her ponytail she walked back in to our bedroom to show me that she had her Cinderella dress on and a frying pan from her play kitchen. I laughed so hard. She looked right at me and pointed the frying pan at me just like Rapunzel does in the movie. She is very cute!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I enjoy very much revamping things from the year before. Especially when that something is still like new and was used for one day. My daughters easter basket from last year had Dora the Explorer embroidered on it. She is turning 5 this year and isn't in to Dora anymore. So I revamped the liner in the basket. I don't want to take apart the liner because I might want to reuse it in the future. So I put together some simple supplies to copy the pattern. I used some wrapping paper, my sewing pins and sewing scissors. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz5U5DOEcPv7UUCGfngJON9ihpm66VQFKT4XbM_5mBBpxBn5K0nVDGZoMOlkxtTlZUnChFVE77GHJK3R78gqO1rR8fW6E-l7V7UzyZOAqK9CKYytvuj_n7DrMoOBkszmBf8zEObIqTT_FW/s1600/pictures+023.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz5U5DOEcPv7UUCGfngJON9ihpm66VQFKT4XbM_5mBBpxBn5K0nVDGZoMOlkxtTlZUnChFVE77GHJK3R78gqO1rR8fW6E-l7V7UzyZOAqK9CKYytvuj_n7DrMoOBkszmBf8zEObIqTT_FW/s320/pictures+023.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The bottom of this liner is shaped like a circle so I simply pinned it to a peice of wrapping paper and cut around it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA5mWcwaF1eNUiy-tS3zzXBMPYRrbxfsYHCbPZzQdJ2zT3-Loao-EIHLadfAGbnU3HcISVna00Lz_sEZaEiwr-cExciYXsvTb7vgxRxDO51nGdVqLHv9sjXK1nx877TQq07LQbhFPtJMF0/s1600/pictures+025.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA5mWcwaF1eNUiy-tS3zzXBMPYRrbxfsYHCbPZzQdJ2zT3-Loao-EIHLadfAGbnU3HcISVna00Lz_sEZaEiwr-cExciYXsvTb7vgxRxDO51nGdVqLHv9sjXK1nx877TQq07LQbhFPtJMF0/s320/pictures+025.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I left about a half inch for sewing, all the way around the pattern.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVyrhO7xxn5Hh30L5YYl6HhIY4gQ2JheEXWgPoXJHppfCd42u582JOqxQzUk6W5zXoKa4GrxHkCWjiQDyFCYRcLdFRqNGX3AdH9CwOoR-3cPuWM2svW2AYYD6N-cfKruU9_kkvw63jwJG/s1600/pictures+026.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVyrhO7xxn5Hh30L5YYl6HhIY4gQ2JheEXWgPoXJHppfCd42u582JOqxQzUk6W5zXoKa4GrxHkCWjiQDyFCYRcLdFRqNGX3AdH9CwOoR-3cPuWM2svW2AYYD6N-cfKruU9_kkvw63jwJG/s320/pictures+026.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So simple! I also did the same thing on the sides, which were two rectangles with half U shapes cut out of the top corners.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_eT_fISPQscoU9o4unFDKFSYtuSj7EDcItfqKjPfNpimS4BpvmlA782PVvAYTJptkDRmBprcADf_eZfI72dAXoiOE7Z7-AiGOlrzbRx7X-b1oM6MhCboMMK3XYUWXm2DQGWOGzjwvTNy7/s1600/pictures+027.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_eT_fISPQscoU9o4unFDKFSYtuSj7EDcItfqKjPfNpimS4BpvmlA782PVvAYTJptkDRmBprcADf_eZfI72dAXoiOE7Z7-AiGOlrzbRx7X-b1oM6MhCboMMK3XYUWXm2DQGWOGzjwvTNy7/s320/pictures+027.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I pinned my newly made patterns to the fabric. I cut out two rectangle pieces and one circle. I then sewed the side of the rectangle pieces together. Then I attached it by sewing the bottom circle on. Then I made my own bias tape from some cute matching pink polka dotted fabric. I attached the bias tape to the side handle U shapes first and then finished it with two long strips of bias tape along the top edge that folds over. Making sure that I made them extra long so I could tie the hanging edges on the sides into a bow. After made my bows on the sides, I trimmed the ends.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN0z5PRNOJfuZXFbpqHY0MWMi8d0JgQRlJJhHRIiYHLa_ddfX4SyXatr5IE8VDXWmNoQQ-t0Fbr6b-vZnCRmqu6N7VPaJRRr6UEmFsJT1V8QeBP-MX1MDg9rqEusES5pC03hrfXoMcAOBS/s1600/pictures+031.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN0z5PRNOJfuZXFbpqHY0MWMi8d0JgQRlJJhHRIiYHLa_ddfX4SyXatr5IE8VDXWmNoQQ-t0Fbr6b-vZnCRmqu6N7VPaJRRr6UEmFsJT1V8QeBP-MX1MDg9rqEusES5pC03hrfXoMcAOBS/s320/pictures+031.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">What I love about good strong easter baskets is you can change the liner every year to fit what your child would like. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had fun stringing up some extra easter eggs I got last year on sale. I got out some embroidery floss and one of my long doll needles. All of the eggs I bought on sale last year have holes in the top and bottom. If you don't have holes in your extra easter eggs that are laying around, it is very easy to pierce them with the needle. The long doll needle makes it was very easy stringing them in a row. The rag wreath took a few hours to finish, but was well worth it. I simple bought a metal wreath base at Michaels, it has four metal rows. You simply cut strips of fabric and tie them in a knot on each row. I went through all my fabric and cut up pink, green, purple, and some white fabrics. After I strung the eggs I tied them to the wreath with the extra embroidery floss. Now our house is ready for Easter. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I just love doing my little girls hair. She loves it too. She is always asking me to do something with her hair. This is one of my favorite dos. It is a french braid twist with a side bun. I adapted it from this wonderful blog <a href="http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/braids/cute-wrap-around-french-braid/">Adopt a Do</a>. Instead of three piece of hair being braided it is two that are twisted slowly picking up hair as you go. Plus I added one of the cute <a href="http://littlegenegreenbean.blogspot.com/2011/03/fabric-carnation-flower-tutorial.html">carnation flowers</a> that I made.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I found this adorable <a href="http://purlbee.squarespace.com/storage/bunnypuppet.pdf">pattern</a> while searching for fun Easter ideas. They are so easy to make and really fun to play with. I didn't have any white yarn so I just cut thin strips of felt and wrapped them around my finger. I then tied some string around the middle and trimmed all the loops. I also didn't add whiskers. I also added extra felt or fabric to the ears. So check out the awesome <a href="http://purlbee.squarespace.com/bunny-finger-puppets/">tutorial</a> for these cute little bunnies.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Due to the tragic tsunami and earthquake in Japan our family has been thinking a lot about emergency preparedness. Our tiny family of three needs to have a plan if something were to happen. So here are some things that we have been doing to get prepared.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit; font-style: italic;">When fire season hit our small town in 2007 we were not prepared. When my family was evacuated I grabbed our 72 hour food kits, which were gifted to us, then discovered that the food was expired. We were stuck in our car in traffic for hours while our entire town was evacuated through the only two roads open. One road was the military base and the other was a web of winding roads through Del Luz Canyon. We however were lucky to have family that lived in Del Luz and knew the roads well. We were also luck that most people would have rather waited in traffic then get lost in Del Luz. We still sat in traffic but not as long as friends of ours did. I know many people who sat in there cars for hours on deserted military property. Not able to get out of there cars, or stop for food. Eating whatever they might have grabbed in the 15 mins they gave us to get out. Praying that there homes had not been consumed by the unpredictable fires. I know that none of them were in traffic for 72 hours but there kits would have come in handy if they had little children in the car that needed to eat often. I grabbed whatever I could and we snacked on crackers and juice boxes till we arrived at my brothers home. If our 72 hour food kits would have been up to date we would have had enough snacks and treats to feed us for those </span><i>grueling</i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><i> hours in traffic. My poor little 2 year old at the time had no clue what was going on and she wanted more in her tummy. </i></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><i></i>This was a lesson to me, be prepared! Make sure you have emergency essentials. You might ask what are emergency essentials. They might be a little different for everyone but they are basic things that will make your life easier during an emergency. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">First you need to think what are the emergency I am going to face living where I live. We live in California. Most common emergencies are earthquakes and fires. Think about what you will need if you get evacuated. I know people who were evacuated from there homes in the middle of the night. You might want to have a change of clean clothes and shoes in your kit. Where will I store it? What will I store it in? What will my kids need? What will we eat? How will we stay warm? There are so many question you need to think of. Here is a simple list of basic supplies. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love making fabric flowers. Now that my daughter's hair is getting long and thick it is hard to put alligator clips in it and have them stay all day. We use a lot of pony tail holders and headbands now. I thought it would be fun to add some matching bows to some of her plain pony tail holders and headbands. Here is a very simple and beautiful flower that you can use for a hair clips, headbands, homemade greeting cards, on top of a present, or to wear as a pin on a shirt. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then I got a great idea from a friend on Facebook. I hadn't thought of making a fun breakfast. So I wiped up some <a href="http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/good-old-fashioned-pancakes/Detail.aspx">pancake batter</a> and dropped in some green food coloring. They were super easy to make, you get out a measuring cup and make heart shapes. My daughter gobbled up two whole shamrocks.</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I came across a very neat paint when I was at the craft store this week. The paint is called Folk Art Enamels. I couldn't wait to try it out, so I ran to the dollar store and I picked up some white plates. I had so much fun painting and I still have some really great ideas of different things I can do with this paint. The great part about this paint is you can bake it in your oven and it cooks the paint so it makes it food safe. What a great invention. Here are some fun projects I created. I made a fun birthday plate, that would be fun to put cookies on for a friend or maybe it could be a family tradition that on your birthday you get to use this plate. You could also decorate plates or cups for parties. There really is no end to the fun things you can do with this paint.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">My four year old (almost 5 year old) is getting taller and taller. I bought two adorable dresses during the summer at target and now they are too short. To short to wear but to long for a shirt. I was so sad to put these in our goodwill bag. They are so cute and she only wore them for a few months. I just had to make them into something she could still wear. I simply trimmed two strips off the bottom of each dress and sewed them as one ruffle on the bottom raw edge, making them into two very cute shirts. I even had extra fabric from a thick bottom hem, so I made an adorable little matching flower for the flowery dress. I have some extra from the polka dot dress to that I am going to use to make into a headband. I had so much fun revamping these, that I think I may go through my goodwill bag and revamp more of her clothes.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
So sorry for the long break from blogging. My daughter started in a wonderful preschool program at our local school and I haven't had to do very much homeschool. She is about to enter kindergarten next school year and she has a speech delay. My husband and I thought it would be good for her to be around other children. She started attending her school in early December. She loves her class, new friends and teacher. So I have been very busy running around and taking her to preschool. However, I still have so many ideas and I have some fun crafts/patterns to share. So I promise to post soon and get 2011 going with some yummy recipes, crafts, patterns, etc. Happy Valentine's Day! Here are some hearts to print and enjoy today.<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I know what you are thinking! What are you doing with a bag of closed pine cones? Well the weather has been so cold and wet the pine cones haven't been drying out and opening up. Everyone knows you have to make a pine cone turkeys at thanksgiving time. Plus they are great for center pieces and you can decorate your Christmas tree with them too. So here is what I do to get them dried out and opened quicker without having to wait several weeks for them to do it naturally. This trick will help you get crafting a lot sooner, and it will make your house smell divine.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX7nTqolGs8sztdaxZhxvTZZG5O8Tf-Zmyg3XDIt6wbkGDQsvIXJPGdb97_qytm2C-PK01Gq1WJCnfKQF4dr1GeujpZ7PRJgS-JUz0rWMId0YzwllsQDGu6kneNskB_WbZ_Iwc1EKEnk8A/s1600/pine+cones+003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX7nTqolGs8sztdaxZhxvTZZG5O8Tf-Zmyg3XDIt6wbkGDQsvIXJPGdb97_qytm2C-PK01Gq1WJCnfKQF4dr1GeujpZ7PRJgS-JUz0rWMId0YzwllsQDGu6kneNskB_WbZ_Iwc1EKEnk8A/s200/pine+cones+003.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>What you are going to need:</b> Cookie Tray, Tin Foil, Gloves, and Pine Cones. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Set your oven to about 200 degrees. Cover a cookie tray with tin foil. When handling the pine cones you should wear gloves. The sap is pretty sticky and can get all over your hands. I didn't wear gloves and had to scrub my fingers with alcohol to get the sap off. I washed off my pine cones in the sink, just to get off any dirt that might be on the outside. I then placed a few pine cones on the covered cookie sheet. When placing on the sheet put them wide enough apart so they can open up. Check on them and rotate them every 30 - 60min, till you reach desired look.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love searching other blogs online to get ideas for activities to do with my daughter. Most ideas I find are great, but I don't always have the materials on hand. Here are some ideas that I have given a new spin on by using things that I have around my house. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicxRurMOitrO8T1v899PwhyanNG_yVLacttBGc96_ammmUEFFU9knOx6XMu3w69AiTfBwzhLsASaWxdF-HHs-ar1Kl1ePzyr0dVFTSgzJRYLAoHk-AmcEe3St6j2oxkRLbse77Kinqz9_i/s1600/blog+002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicxRurMOitrO8T1v899PwhyanNG_yVLacttBGc96_ammmUEFFU9knOx6XMu3w69AiTfBwzhLsASaWxdF-HHs-ar1Kl1ePzyr0dVFTSgzJRYLAoHk-AmcEe3St6j2oxkRLbse77Kinqz9_i/s320/blog+002.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">The first activity I have, I found on several different blogs. It is a great fine motor activity for kids. The blogs that I saw share this activity used all different kinds of Parmesan cheese holders. I don't have a Parmesan cheese holder so I tired to think of a way to duplicate it without having to go to the store. I was looking though my recyclables and found a clear container. I got out my hole punch. Folding the lid in half and I punched several holes in it. I then cut some pipe cleaners that were stowed away in a art bucket. Long enough to poke out of the top of the lid when put through the holes, but short enough to fit sideways inside the container when storing.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Not very many thing have buttons anymore, but this is still an important skill to learn. Most examples of this idea were great, but not very cute. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The Third activity I have seen a lot of moms use on there blogs. This great free printable I found on <a href="http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.com/index.html">1+1+1=1</a> they have a variety of great learning resources for children. I adore there tot books. This fun activity goes with one of my daughters favorite books. She loves to do this activity and then read the book. This activity will help your child learn there colors, and it is filled with familiar animals too. We love to make all the sounds that the animals make in the book.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The last activity is Dress up dolls. I have seen several adorable dress up dolls here and there on blogs. Some out of paper, or foam, but mine I made out of felt. This dress up set is for when my daughter want to play on her own with our felt board. Again very easy to make and will entertain your little one for hours.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Happy Thanksgiving! I wanted to share a fun little game I made for my daughter this week. With no preschool this week and it raining on and off, we have had a lot of inside time. I created it so it can be used several different ways. I chose to do colors, but you could change it to matching number, or letters. You can even turn this game into a counting game, were you draw dots and your child has to count the dots then match it to the right number. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">I love gingerbread cookies, but some recipes the ginger can be to spicy or over powering. These cookies have a great taste without being to over powering in taste. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">A friend made this recipe at preschool last year, she had all the kids help and they created gingerbread people. I nibbled on a little dough while helping. I begged for the recipe and made it several time during the holidays last year.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">It is one of our Christmas traditions to bake and decorate sugar cookie, but we replaced our sugar cookie recipe with this one. It is so easy, and really yummy! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">After reading this darling little book with my daughter I thought it would be nice to get her more involved with the story. With the help of a lot of white flannel and some cream colored puffy paint, I created this felt story. I fill my felt board with the clouds and then I clear it off, then start over again adding clouds. We love to look at the big beautiful clouds in the sky, and pick out shapes. With rain comes rainbows, and who doesn't love seeing rainbows? I know that rainy weather can cause many kids to be sad, but with my fun activities no one will be bored on those gloomy days. In this unit kids will be playing with cotton balls, shaving cream, reading a great book, and discovering weather. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">This activity can be accomplished in two different ways. It depends on what you have on hand, and how messy you want to get with your child. I made a simple hill, grass, sky and sun background scene placemat. I then laminated them, so they can now be use for many different projects. You can even use them for snack, or other craft activities and then just wipe them down when you are done. Making your own placemats are so easy, and you can get really creative with them. The point of this project is to let your child make clouds either with shaving cream or white playdough. You can get out cookie cutters or just leave it up to there imaginations. This activity is fun and is a great sensory activity.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;">Painting Clouds</span></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif8JVdxsBOwzrNIMkOx7_TiuxtUKqm6Ec2gBvIrvuA6zrR5u-xZOloWOhbcin-XXD2iiNftDoQDEWoh5jjC2fyInQ2LhdIk_DldtCk53yPQN21Fn8O3z1FxnEdt8msb8ZWJIjBzjZ62K8N/s1600/preschool+004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif8JVdxsBOwzrNIMkOx7_TiuxtUKqm6Ec2gBvIrvuA6zrR5u-xZOloWOhbcin-XXD2iiNftDoQDEWoh5jjC2fyInQ2LhdIk_DldtCk53yPQN21Fn8O3z1FxnEdt8msb8ZWJIjBzjZ62K8N/s320/preschool+004.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Making your own clouds by painting them is so simple and fun. Your child can paint whatever they like, and then tell you about it. They can paint a bunch of little clouds or one big cloud. They can even try to paint different objects. Just let them have fun. You will need blue paper and white paint for this activity. If you want to go a less messy way you can give your child a little glue and a handful of cotton balls. Then they can create a cloud with out getting out the messy paint. I got out my cookie cutter for this activity and my daughter loved it.<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">I haven't posted for a while. I have been so busy. Happy Halloween! We had a quite Sunday Halloween inside. I made some yummy pumpkin soup in my crock pot and for dessert we had rice crispy treats. My pumpkin soup recipe turned out so yummy I just had to share it. I had a blast making this soup. I got out my steamer and I steamed some fresh pumpkins we bought at our local pumpkin patch. I pureed it in my food processor and I have been making yummy recipes with it ever since. <span style="color: black; line-height: normal;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><br />
